Titanium Utilities was founded by a group of friends, dedicated to creating a reliable, efficient, diverse, family-oriented, safe, and sustainable organization. Built off of strong relationships, industry knowledge, and a passion to create an industry leading company, Titanium Utilities aims to provide excellent service to it’s clients.
Titanium Utilities vision is to build a diverse team who will create reliable solutions with efficient results, ultimately providing end to end services in the utility construction market. Titanium started out in underground utility construction and is now building an overhead utility division, and a cable installation and splicing division. Titanium is also exploring opportunities in project design and the markets of gas, water, and sewer installation. Titanium’s ultimate goal is to create an end-to-end utility company for all essential services, bringing each client a solid work ethic with a team that is safety-conscious, adaptable, and dedicated to each job.
Lorne Aasen, CEO, is a Power Linemen by trade, has a total of 17 years in the utility industry with 5 years as a Civil Superintendent on multiple projects valued at 50 million+. His most recent tenure was as the General Manager of a local hydrovac & HDD company since 2015 where he was in charge of maintaining oversight of the company's operations, financials, and marketing, all of which included managing 100-150 employees.
Reed McFarlane, COO, has a total of 15 years in the utility installation and maintenance industry. He most recently worked as the HDD Manager of a local Hydrovac & HDD company where he was employed since 2018. During his time there, he was responsible for looking after HDD projects across Canada, managing 60-80 employees and a fleet of 34 HDD units ranging from 6,000-40,000lb rigs in the utility and pipeline sectors.
Andrew Abbott, President has been the Hydrovac, Transportation, and Safety Manager since 2017 looking after 60-80 employees, a fleet of 32 Hydrovacs, assisting in all Maintenance scheduling, Transportation compliance and leading our safety to an ACSA award for 100,000-200,000-man hour without lost time incidents in our industry.
Peter Lofstrand, joined Titanium Utilities to help create and oversee the company's financial vision, health, and growth. With 20+ years of entrepreneurial and corporate experience in the construction and financial industry, leadership roles in multiple not-for-profit organizations, and most recently leading a branch of a Big-5 Bank to being recognized as a top performer in Edmonton, he is dedicated to supporting Titanium to significant financial success as a leading utility service provider in the community.
Matt Nelson, VP of Utilities, recently resigned from his position as the HDD Supervisor of a local hydrovac & HDD company where he was employed since 2018. During his time as HDD Supervisor, he was responsible for looking after crews of up to 60 employees within the utility and pipeline industries. With 10+ years supervising as well as completing his HDD certificate at the Vermeer Corp in Pella Iowa. Matt is a valued addition to the Titanium Team.
Blane Kilback, Construction Manager, is a Telecommunications Lineman by trade and has 34 years experience in the Telecommunications Industry. He spent the first 25 years working for the CDN Armed Forces overseeing cable plant construction projects. The projects ranged from structured wiring, direct buried, underground, and aerial construction both in Canada and while being deployed overseas. Since retiring from the military, he has experience in Quality Control, Project Foreman, Superintendent and Construction Management for Fibre-To-The Home projects for underground and aerial work in Alberta and BC.
Andrew McFarlane, Field Operations, has extensive experience in the utility industry, spending a significant portion of that time in the Bahamas working for his own company. His most recent position was within a local Hydrovac and HDD company where he spent the majority of his time managing Fibre-To-The-Home builds in Ontario. This included overseeing a fleet of 5 Hydrovacs, 3 Directional Drills, and 20 workers.
Darla Sandwith, Office Manager, grew up in the construction industry and has worked 20+ years in the construction and oilfield industry in many different roles from various administration roles, parts, service coordinator, branch manager and safety administration.
Evan Williams is a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in the oilfield industry. Beginning his career swamping on large trucks, Evan's dedication and hard work led him to achieve his Class 1 certification, advancing to the position of a Hydrovac operator. His career trajectory continued upward as he became a skilled driller, later transitioning to the role of a drill locator, showcasing his versatility and expertise within the industry.
Most recently, Evan expanded his skill set by serving as a Maintenance Fleet Manager, where he effectively managed and maintained fleet operations, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. Evan is currently located in BC as he is taking care of family matters. He expects to return to Alberta to work within the company in the coming year.
